About Project Inclusion

Project Inclusion (PI) is an organization based out of Victoria, British Columbia and Toronto, Ontario. Our mandate is to develop sustainable inclusive programs for youth with disabilities and educate the communities within which they live. For integration to successfully take place communities must first understand and then desire the integration of these persons into their community. With this knowledge PI has developed a series of educational workshops that aim to educate communities surrounding the often-overlooked issue of disability. Our model of inclusion and series of educational workshops are built on the experience of our founders. As an organization we are dedicated to the belief that all persons regardless of ability can play a vital role in the communities within which they live provided they are given the opportunity and the environment to do so. PI is dedicated to the empowerment of youth with disabilities, and committed to promoting attitudes of understanding and acceptance in the communities within which they live. Disabilities are often overlooked by major aid organizations; PI’s hope is to inspire the world to listen to those in need by transforming one community at a time. Thus far PI has implemented their first CIDA funded project in Khanty-Mansiysk Russia.

PI's current initiative is to promote inclusion within communities in Canada. Our aim is to develop an educational program to facilitate discussion around inclusion of children within our schools and people in our communities. We align ourselves with the motto "Think Global, Act Local". Through our discussions and interactions in our own communities, we do not only hope to create an awareness of inclusion but we also strive to incorporate what we learn into how we operate on a global level in future projects.
