Both Sean and Robin are recent graduates from the University of Victoria, and both have been working with children with disabilities in Victoria for the majority of their university careers. Specifically, they used recreation as a means to help integrate and include youth with disabilities into the community. They observed the amazing impact recreation can have on self-esteem and self-empowerment, and thought this type of program would be beneficial in Russia. Therefore they designed a 6-week pilot project to implement in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. Over the course of the 6 week project, Robin and Sean worked with a group of 20 youths with various disabilities ranging from cerebral palsy to autism.
